NOKIA PUREVIEW - OPTIC EYEGASM

With the PureView sensors, Nokia really achieved something all other manufacturors

couldn't do. Included in all Nokias high-end smartphones, it really makes a difference in the

photographical performance in the camera.

PureView is in fact the name for the sensors which are combined with a Carl Zeiss lens so that they can give the best performance you'd expect from a mobile camera. The on-chip sensors take care of optic stabilisation and oversampling. This makes it possible to make high quality photos with just a 8.7 Megapixel camera ( like the Lumia 920 ). It also filters al the bad images out of a picture so that in group pictures, all eyes are bright and open and so that photos show no sign of movement.

The combination of the chips also make sure that there is an enhanced zoom, so that when you zoom in all the way, the photos still look really good.

This article is based on Lumia 920 performance, which has an 8.7MP camera. We can only

imagine what the same photos would look like if taken with the new 41MP camera that Nokia introduced in the Lumia 1020.

Below you can find a list with PureView optimized phones.

- Lumia 1020

- Lumia 1520

My conclusion towards Nokia's PureView is that it really makes the Lumia excel in it's performance. The 8.7MP Lumia 920 can even take better pictures than the 14MP Galaxy S4

by Samsung, because of the PureView sensor. Of course, the combination with the Carl Zeiss optical zoom lens is one which is almost pitch perfect. If you want a phone that functions good and takes the best pictures you can imaginge, you should really get one of the Lumia's listed before
